Methodology

Data & Trust Hub

Every preset, calculation, and guide aims to be transparent. This page documents the research process, data refresh cadence, and people behind the tool.

Preset Data Pipeline

  • Platform earnings start with public driver forums, gig-economy research, and internal averages. We cross-check outliers before updating the presets dataset.
  • City multipliers rely on anonymized payouts, Bureau of Labor Statistics cost-of-living indexes, and AAA fuel tables. Updates are logged in the session log.
  • Vehicle costs mirror Edmunds True Cost to Own®, EPA efficiency data, and insurer averages tracked in the data notes modal.

When markets shift (new incentives, fuel swings), we review the affected presets and regenerate the sitemap to surface fresh metadata.

Update Cadence & Quality Checks

  • Versioning — each release bumps the VERSION file (see GitHub) and runs php scripts/update-release.php to regenerate `sitemap.xml` and structured data timestamps.
  • Manual validation — we spot-check Core Web Vitals via Lighthouse, inspect Search Console coverage, and confirm canonical URLs with the static shell.
  • Changelog — material edits land in the session log with the version tag, date, and rationale.
